PTC/USER Expert Webinar Series: Managing Component Quantities in Connected Part and CAD Structures
Jean Pierre Le Coz, Mechanical Engineer, PTCU PLM practice lead at PTC. Working for PTC since 1994. I have been first technical sales, and I then moved on the service organization implementing Windchill to manage CAD data for 15 years. I’m now focusing on transmitting the experience to my peers and customers.
When working with product structures in connection with CAD structure it is critical to understand how we can use Windchill capabilities to implement various business cases within these connected structures.
At PTCU we have a huge library of courses; some of them are covering advanced topics around connected Product and CAD structures. The purpose of today’s webinar is to expose PTCU course extracts related to this domain (PTCU ref TRN 5231).
During this session presentation and demonstrations using our virtual training environment will be shown illustrating Windchill capabilities to cover the following cases:
- How we can update a connected CAD structure when Windchill part usage quantities are modified.
- How a product architect and a CAD designer can work together when component quantities are updated.
- How Windchill part quantities, like weight or volume measures, can be driven by Creo.
